Business storytelling photography in print

Business Storytelling Photography

One of the best parts of my job is building connections and helping my clients share their visual story. Back in July 2023 an idea was born which led to a fantastic project with Honey’s Cider and Bath Life. It allowed me to showcase the power of business storytelling photography in print.

How did the project get started?

We were introduced to Honey’s Cider through a connection in the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership. With a special interest in the food and drink sector, they knew Honey’s Cider were keen to take their brand to a wider audience, but they were missing some storytelling photography to showcase what they do.

The seed of an idea was born

We’ve worked with Bath Life for a few years now, helping them capture local stories and events. Following a few conversations to explore the concept we all agreed to develop the idea further.

It ticked a few boxes too…

  • story showcasing a regional producer just outside Bath
  • perfect seasonal fit for the October publication
  • strong human story
  • potential for some great photography
  • a fantastic product!
The photoshoot

On a hot summers day at the end of August we spent a few hours on the farm with Kimberly (owner and chief apple squasher ) and her dad Pete. We walked through the orchards and Kimberly shared her journey, from bookkeeper to the owner of Honey’s Cider.

Sadly it was too early to photograph apple harvesting and juice pressing as that happens in October. Rest assured, all those wonderful apples have been pressed now and are happily fermenting away ready for next year!

The editorial feature in Bath Life

The team at Bath Life have crafted a wonderful article, combing the photography and Kimberly’s unique story. Extracts from the October 2023 edition are shared below with their approval.
