About the client
Brignall Opticians are an independent opticians based in the West of England. With roots in Bristol, Brignall Opticians has based itself in Chippenham since 1971. The practice is a bright and modern space and their clinical expertise is embedded in the practice culture.
The opticians at Brignall’s are also highly qualified, providing thorough examinations using the latest diagnostic equipment to monitor and check a range of eye conditions.
Brignall Optician’s brief
Brignall Opticians recently refurbished their Chippenham practice with a bright and welcoming reception and a new dispensing space at the front of the victorian building. Following the refurbishment they wanted to photograph the new spaces and show the team in action on their new website.
In particular, they wanted to show the patient journey, from a warm welcome by their receptionists, followed by the pre-screening tests, the consultation with the optometrist and the final dispensing stage where the spectacles are selected and fitted.
Brignall Opticians offer the traditional services as well as many specialist services – it was important to capture the breadth of services available, with images of their friendly staff at work.
Our approach
Working closely the business owners a planning session was arranged to view the spaces available. Additionally, it was essential to understand how the natural light would change through the day, and to agree any adjustments before the photo session.
We also worked with a shot list, to ensure all the important equipment, examinations and consultation steps were captured.
The team at Brignall Opticians arranged for members of staff and their families to be available for the photoshoot. Having a selection of staff made a huge difference, providing plenty of variety in the final photographs.
A number of children were involved in the photoshoot, reflecting Brignall Opticians family client base. Extra time was also built in to the photoshoot to help and guide the child models through the process.
The results
Brignall Opticians created a bright and modern new website, that’s informative and easy to navigate. Their new storytelling photography is used throughout the site, working in tandem with the copy to signpost their services.
The Brignall Opticians team are also recognisable in the new photography. When integrated into the new website this creates a sense of trust and familiarity when clients arrive at the practice for the first time.
