Background and the client

Grant UK an award winning heating engineering business, manufacture oil fired condensing boilers and the latest renewable heating systems including heat pumps and solar.

As part of their ongoing development program and new product pipeline they will be launching the Aerona 290 heat pump in the final quarter of 2024.

To support the launch Grant UK invested in a market leading stand at the NEC Installer Show to showcase their current range and product launches.

Grant UK’s brief

Grant UK have presented new products at the NEC Installer Show for a number of years. For 2024 their new stand with an eye catching design and prominent position, showcased the new Aerona 290 – a fifth generation air to water heat pump, launching in the final quarter of 2024.

The Grant UK stand incorporated an eye catching 5×3 metre LED screen, breakout areas, working products and the latest technology solutions, for a truly immersive experience. In addition there was a full hospitality package including a darts competition with guest appearances from world champion Luke Humphries and darts celebrity, Bobby George.

The exhibition photography brief was developed with pre-event teams calls with Grant UK’s Creative and Events Manager. The primary objective was capturing the Grant UK brand, current products and the new Aerona 290 heat pump in the context of the Installer Show. The photography should be fun and visually engaging, revealing strong connections between the Grant UK team and their customers and guests on the stand.

Our approach

Building on the brief from Grant UK, some basic elements are essential for successful event photography.

Grant UK planned product demonstrations and celebrity appearances throughout the day, so capturing the scheduled events was essential.

Live events move quickly. Guests arrive on the stand and conversations develop. New connections are made and old friendships rekindled. My role as an exhibition photographer is to anticipate what’s going to happen next. In addition, we need great light and dynamic compositions to capture the energy and characters on the stand.

Part of the process is building rapport with the team members. Helping them understand the objectives builds trust and ultimately creates stronger, more engaging photography.

The results

The Grant UK stand was an outstanding design, allowing guests to flow through the space. It was easy to develop conversations with the sales teams, explore products and get involved in the competitions.

By incorporating graphic design elements from the stand and blending with people interactions I was able to combine brand, product and people into a powerful photographic story for Grant UK.

We’re really very thrilled with the photography, and it just shows how impressive the stand was – perfectly captured!
