Bluepark’s brief

Bluepark came to us with a brief to create a series of headshots that reflected both the professionalism and personality of their close-knit team. Rather than traditional corporate portraits, they wanted something a little different, requesting two distinct images for each team member.

The first set would show them in their usual work clothes, capturing a relaxed yet professional look. The second would highlight individual interests and hobbies, showing a more personal story and showcasing each person’s character. The images were primarily intended for their new website but designed to be versatile enough for use across other platforms, presenting the team as approachable, authentic and professional.

Our approach

As part of the brief, it was clear Bluepark planned to replace the background with their brand colours, so I photographed each team member against a neutral grey backdrop using a mobile studio setup. This provided a clean, consistent look and made background replacement straightforward in post-production.

I allowed plenty of time with each person. Not only to fine-tune lighting and framing but also to help them relax and chat about their hobbies, which inspired the more personal portraits. While each headshot has its own character, it was important the entire set felt cohesive, especially for their website, so consistency in tone and style was key throughout the team photography session.

The results

The final set of headshots gave Bluepark exactly what they wanted: a professional yet personal look that captured the individuality of their team. Each person’s out-of-work interests added a unique flavour to the images, supported by short bios written by the client. Using their brand toolkit, they replaced the neutral grey background with a subtle blue gradient, helping the portraits sit naturally within their website design. A clever hover effect now reveals the hobby-based portraits, adding a fun, interactive touch that brings the team’s personalities to life online.

We’ve ended up with a range of brilliant photos that we can use in multiple places…

We wanted something a little bit different in our head shots to show each team member’s personality and Nick was incredibly receptive, taking our suggestions on board with gusto. On the day he worked really well with everyone, even those who didn’t really want to participate, and we’ve ended up with a range of brilliant photos that we can use in multiple places. Would highly recommend!
