Case study - Physiotherapy Photography with The Pure Practice

The Pure Practice is a physiotherapy practice based in Bath in the west of England. Established in 2016 they provide world class physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation.

Their core aim is to enable their clients to complete their rehabilitation journey with access to treatment rooms, a rehab area and a strength and conditioning gym. Additionally, The Pure Practice has close local connections with Bath Rugby, Team Bath Athletics Club and specialist medical colleagues.

As a specialist provider of physiotherapy services, The Pure Practice is a client centred business. Their clients are typically recovering from injury or illness and the rehabilitation process requires a personalised investigation and recovery program. Their marketing content needs to communicate their services along with their patient centred, caring values.

The new photography needed to promote a clean and professional aesthetic. Additionally the client required relaxed headshots of the team, storytelling images of the team in action, along with close ups of products and equipment.

Working closely with Sonja Bass (Founder and Director), the flow of the photoshoot was agreed during a series of planning calls. First of all the website wire frame was explored, along with the physiotherapy services, staff availability and the spaces available for photography. Finally, any constraints around lighting, treatment room access and client privacy were also considered.

Photographing on a dark autumnal day, required natural light blended with flash (artificial light) to create bright and fresh photography. Sonja Bass was also present throughout, with a visual shot list to guide the photoshoot, capturing a broad mix of physiotherapy procedures.

The Pure Practice have created a beautifully designed website using their new physiotherapy photography. The photography captures their personalised approach, with a natural and authentic style.

Photography of the team connecting and working with clients is used throughout the site. Above all, the use of bespoke physiotherapy photography supports their patient centred approach and roots the practice in the City of Bath.
