Updated 7th July 2020
Following the most recent UK government update, this post contains the latest guidance for my photo sessions in 2020.
I’ll keep this page updated as the advice develops over the coming weeks and months, so please keep checking for updates or give me a call if you have a question.
The new guidance in England effective on the 4th July allows many non-essential retail outlets and the hospitality sector to reopen, as long as they have safeguards in place. Whilst much of the hospitality sector has also reopened there are still restrictions that limit the number of people coming together at one time.
The good news is we’re now in a position to resume many of the photo sessions.
I’d also like to reassure you that I’ll take all the necessary precautions during your photo session. We’ll need to continue to keep a safe distance of two metres from each other and put some basic safeguards in place. Much of my photography is ‘on location’ and outdoors so we can safely apply these principles going forwards.
The photo sessions are still all about capturing a connection or telling a story about your business to help you connect with your clients or stakeholders and I’m looking forward to helping you create those images.
Over recent weeks, we’ve all spent more time than usual thinking about those relationships and the special people in our lives. When it comes to our businesses, we’re about to enter a recovery phase. It’s going to be more important than ever to reach out, build connections and reconnect with our clients and colleagues again.
So to help you understand what happens next, I’ve outlined my approach for my photography services below.
These photo sessions are typically one to one and we can safely build in social distancing and hygiene measures to keep everyone safe.
With outdoor sessions we can choose quiet and open spaces and very easily maintain a two metre distance.
With indoor headshots and personal branding sessions we’ll need to consider each shoot on a case by case basis to ensure we can safely maintain space. If you’re interested in a personal branding session give me a call. We can have a chat about locations and how we can photograph you safely.
The current UK Gov guidelines are restricting the gathering of large groups of people and many businesses have put their event and conference programs on hold.
I anticipate there will be further updates thought 2020 and as soon as guidance is released I’ll release further updates.
If you’re planning a corporate event later in the year or you’d like to chat through some ideas about how to capture your event feel free to get in touch.
My outdoor family sessions restarted on the 1st June and I feel confident that with a few simple safeguards in place we can operate fun family photo sessions again.
If you’re all still at home while the children are off school, summer could be the perfect time to capture some wonderful photos of you all together before you head back to work.
I’ll also be offering all families a £25 voucher towards your print or digital products this summer (ends 30th Sep 2020). Just quote FAM25 when you get in touch.
Here are some of the safeguards to keep your family safe.
- For now I’ll only be booking outdoor family photo sessions where we can safely keep a two metre distance, so this could be in your garden or an outdoor location nearby of your choice.
- If you’re unsure about a location and whether it’s suitable, give me call and we can have a chat about its suitability.
- Photo sessions inside your home will remain on hold for now, but I hope to resume these in the future. I’ve taken this decision as in some smaller homes it’s not practical to use equipment safely and still maintain a 2 metre distance. I’ll continue to review this advice in line with UK Gov guidance.
- I’ll be regularly sanitising my hands with an alcohol gel throughout the session.
….and if you have any furry four-legged friends, they’re very welcome too!
My larger family photo sessions with multiple households will continue to remain on hold for now.
I hope to restart my extended family photo sessions as soon as UK Gov guidance allows more than two households to meet up.
For now all of my special occasion photography will remain on hold, as these sessions are likely to involve many people from multiple households.
As with extended family photo sessions, I’m hoping that these sessions will be able to resume during the summer and I’ll post any updates to this page.
If you’re planning a special occasion, maybe a special birthday, a wedding anniversary or a christening later in the year I’d love to hear from you.
Feel free to give me a call and if you’d like to share a provisional date we can start the planning process and firm up the details nearer the time.
Gift vouchers are available from just £25 and in increments of £25. Give me a call if you’d like to talk through the options or if you’d like a brochure.
Any existing gift vouchers will be also extended for a further 6 months from the original expiry date.
